The history of our house goes far back to the 16th century. Ever since, the “Adler” (German for eagle) is a place of hospitality. For three centuries, the guests have dined, laughed, feasted and stayed - for three centuries, they have felt comfortable in this place.
At first, there was a brewery and an inn located in the building. Guestrooms also might have been offered in that spacious and eminent house opposite the town hall.
“Schwarzer Adler” (German for black eagle) was the name of the building 300 years ago. While the adjective black has long disappeared, the name eagle represents hospitality and a comfortable atmosphere also 300 years later.
Now we continue this tradition and combine historical elements like the staircase or the timber-framing with the comfort of a chic hotel with its own elegant but homelike style in our newly renovated house which is put under monumental protection.
